

The Clinton High School Alumni Association (CHSAA) is pleased to announce its 2026 scholarship winners. This year is the 26th consecutive year that CHSAA has awarded scholarships to graduating CHS seniors.

"Go Arrows" Scholarship Award
The 2026 “Go Arrows” Service Award winner is Owen Coker.
Coker will pursue a degree in Ethics, Politics, and Economics at Yale University. While at CHS, Coker distinguished himself academically as well as representing CHS on the soccer field and tennis team. His community service roles spanned a wide range of activities, including serving on the MDE Student Advisory Council, volunteering at Together for Hope, and assisting with the Arrow Soccer Camp throughout his career at CHS.
One of his teachers described him as “unrelentingly pushing himself to do and be better…..” and that he “…sees his life as an opportunity to do something to change the world…”

Brecken J. Anderson Scholarship
The Brecken J. Anderson Scholarship was established in 2024 and is awarded to a graduating senior who will be majoring in Nursing.
The winner of the 2026 Brecken J. Anderson Scholarship is Jamaya Ivory.
Ivory will pursue a degree in Nursing at the University of Mississippi. While at CHS, she was active in an array of student organizations, was recognized with many honors by her peers, and took advantage of numerous Honors and AP classes. Her leadership skills were evident in organizations both on-campus and off-campus. In addition to multiple service opportunities throughout her career at CHS, she notably participated in a special program at UMMC as well as founding a mental health club (BEAM).
One of her references described her as “consistently showing maturity, responsibility, and has an impressive ability to lead with integrity” and that she “gracefully balances her rigorous coursework with extensive extracurricular involvement. “
Another reference noted that she “displays exceptional verbal communication skills and always comes in with a smile on her face.”

John S. Weatherly Scholarship
The John S. Weatherly Scholarship was established in 2022 by Dr. Jenifer Weatherly Ingle in memory of her father who graduated from CHS in 1970.
Josiah Riggs is the 2026 John S. Weatherly Scholarship winner.
Riggs will pursue degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration at the University of Alabama. In addition to owning a stellar academic record, he has been part of the CHS Marching Band, Jazz Band, Attache Show Choir Pit, and FBC-Clinton Student Ministries. Numerous AP and Honors classes also represent the rigor that he has pursued at CHS.
One reference described him as “a truly outstanding student in all respects” and “motivated intrinsically to take advantage of every opportunity to better himself through education.”
Another reference added that he is “wise beyond his years, focused and someone with an intense work
